Since the publication of Child Abuse Compensation Claims in 2001, the
law in this area is now far more developed, particularly in the areas of
limitation and liability. However, these cases continue to come before the
civil courts and they remain a constant focus for the media. All of the
authors are leading practitioners in their field, and they have worked
incredibly hard to produce a work that is now the definitive guide to this
challenging area of the law. In the Foreword to the 2001 publication,
Mr Justice Jackson (as he then was) called it a ‘work of scholarship’. The
2011 version is nothing less and I recommend it to all practitioners, who
represent survivors of abuse in their quest for fair and just compensation.
